The Benny Hill Show Theme Song

benny hill theme song; 1969-1989

Let’s go really old school. The show is a popular British comedy which starred, of course, Benny Hill. The show aired in over 140 countries between 1951 and 1989. Benny Hill died in 1992 at the age of 68.

The theme song is called “Yakety Sax”. It was written by a certain James Q. “Spider” Rich, and was performed (and recorded) by American saxophonist, Boots Randolph. Randolph released the song commercially as a single in 1963 under Monument Records, and included a B-side song entitled “I Really Don’t Want to Know”.

Damn, all of the people involved in this theme are gone.

Anyway, below is the theme music. No original title sequence yet, just the song. And, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard this one before.

*The song is available in a number of (legal download) albums.
