The Cleveland Show Theme Song

2009–present

Alright, so Cleveland is the neighbor of the Griffins from Family Guy; he is also the deli owner.

The show’s theme song is sung entirely by Cleveland Brown, so that alone tells us the performer is Mike Henry. All original music is credit to composer Walter Murphy, so I assume he wrote the opening song as well. No official soundtrack or commercial releases are available for the series as of this moment—the show is still quite young anyway.

I realize there are embedding problems with the video above so just click here to watch it on YouTube.

The above video already has the edited “happy black-guy face” with “happy mustached face.” It is said the changes were made to make the song more “racially sensitive.”

The Cleveland Show theme song lyrics

My name is Cleveland Brown, and I am proud to be
Right back in my hometown, with my new family
There’s old friends and new friends, and even a bear
Through good times and bad times, it’s true love we share
And so I found a place, where everyone will know
My happy mustached face, this is the Cleveland show *giggle*

American Dad! Theme Song

Here’s another Seth MacFarlaneWalter Murphy collaboration. No surprises here, as The Family Guy and American Dad! are quite similar, and are both The Simpsons competition.

The American Dad! theme is composed by Walter Murphy, and performed by Stan Smith (Seth MacFarlane (plus a choir of girls for the last line)).

American Dad! theme song lyrics

Good morning USA
I got a feeling that it’s gonna be a wonderful day
The sun in the sky has a smile on its face
And he’s shining a salute to the American race

Oh boy it’s swell to say
Good morning USA!

Good morning USA!

Family Guy Theme Song

The theme song from Family Guy is officially entitled “Theme from Family Guy.” It is included in Family Guy: Live in Vegas—the official soundtrack album for the animated series. In the album, the credited performers are the main characters: The Griffins—Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Stewie, and even the dog, Brian. In real life, this means the song was performed by Seth McFarlane (Peter, Stewie & Brian), Alex Borstein (Lois), Mila Kunis (Meg), and Seth Green (Chris).

The theme song was composed by Walter Murphy, who also composed the themes for The Cleveland Show and American Dad! He also won an Emmy for “You’ve Got A Lot To See,” a song used for a Family Guy episode in 2002.

Family Guy theme song lyrics

Lois: It seems today that all you see is violence in movies and sex on TV
Peter: But where are those good old fashioned values

Lois & Peter: On which we used to rely

All: Lucky there’s a family guy
Lucky there’s a man who’ll positively can do
All the things that make us
Stewie: Laugh and cry

All: He’s a family guy
