Men of a Certain Age Theme Song

2009-present

Men of a Certain Age is a hilarious, semi-new, semi-comedy on TNT. Hilarious, yes, why shouldn’t it be, it is created by and stars Ray Romano. Semi-new, yes, because the second season actually just premiered a couple of days ago. And semi-comedy, yes, because this is one of those new age comedy-drama “dramedys.”

The theme song used in the opening is really, really dead-on for what the show is about. The song is “When I Grow Up (To Be a Man)” popularized by The Beach Boys. The song is originally part of their album Today! released in 1965. The song is credited (composers) to The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson and Mike Love.

Below is said theme song and opening credits. See below for lyrics.

Men of a Certain Age theme song lyrics

This is the show edit. The part used is actually just the first verse of the song.

When I grow up to be a man
Will I dig the same things that turn me on as a kid?
Will I look back and say that I wish I hadn’t done what I did?
Will I joke around and still dig those sounds
When I grow up to be a man?

Big Love Theme Song

2006-present

Big Love is (currently) four seasons old, and, there has been a major change in the opening sequence for its fourth season. Most people like it, many people hate it, but, either way, Big Love is one interesting show.

The theme song for seasons 1-3 is “God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys. In season 4, it became “Home” by the band Engineers. See below for lyrics and the video sequences.

Big Love theme song seasons 1-3 lyrics

I may not always love you
But long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I’ll make you so sure about it

God only knows what I’d be without you

If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would living do me

God only knows what I’d be without you (fade)
