Wonder Woman Theme Song

1975–1979

Ah, Lynda Carter at her finest.

First, let’s get all our facts straight. The Wonder Woman television series lasted 3 seasons. Its first season was in ABC in 1975. It was oficially called The New Original Wonder Woman. This was probably so because there was a television movie made in 1974 (also for ABC) entitled Wonder Woman that starred Cathy Lee Crosby.

Below is the theme song of The New Original Wonder Woman season 1.

Season 2 was not picked up by ABC so the series went to CBS where it was officially titled The New Adventures of Wonder Woman. According to Wikipedia, the theme was re-written to reflect the series’ new present-day setting. In the middle of the season, the song was again changed to an instrumental version.

Below is the non-instrumental first version of season two’s theme, shown with the original opening sequence.

Below is the instrumental (semi-instrumental actually) second version of season two’s theme, again shown with the original opening sequence.

Now on to season 3. Again according to Wikipedia, the theme was once again reworked, this time to a disco beat (ah, the late 70s). According however to the YouTube dude we’ve been stealing our videos from, season 3 also had 2 versions of the theme songs (not sure about the difference though, I’m tired, maybe you can point it out for me).

Below is the first version of the season 3 theme song, again with original title sequence.

Now for version 2 of season 3.

About the song

The song’s music was composed by Charles Fox. The lyrics, by Norman Gimbel. The two are also known for their collaboration in “Killing Me Softly with His Song”.

Wonder Woman theme song lyrics

Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman

All the world is waiting for you
and the power you possess
In your satin tights
fighting for your rights
And the old red white and blue

Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman

Now the world is ready for you
and the wonders you can do
Make a hawk a dove
stop a war with love
Make a liar tell the truth

Wonder Woman
Get us out from under, Wonder Woman

All our hopes are pinned upon you
and the magic that you do
Stop a bullet cold
make the axis fold
change their minds and change the world

Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman

You’re a wonder, Wonder Woman

Laverne & Shirley Theme Song

So, we’re still in the Happy Days era, and this next show, apparently, is a spin-off of Happy Days. Surprisingly enough, composers Charles Fox and Norman Gimbel are once again associated with this show’s theme song. The theme song for Laverne & Shirley is entitled “Making Our Dreams Come True,” and it was performed by American singer, Cyndi Grecco.

The famous words and lyrics

Laverne & Shirley skipping down the sidewalk: “One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Schlemiel, schlimazel, hasenpfeffer incorporated!”

We’re gonna do it!

Give us any chance, we’ll take it.
Read us any rule, we’ll break it.
We’re gonna make our dreams come true.
Doin’ it our way.

Nothin’s gonna turn us back now,
Straight ahead and on the track now.
We’re gonna make our dreams come true,
Doin’ it our way.

There is nothing we won’t try,
Never heard the word impossible.
This time there’s no stopping us.
We’re gonna do it.

On your mark, get set, and go now,
Got a dream and we just know now,
We’re gonna make our dream come true.
And we’ll do it our way, yes our way.
Make all our dreams come true,
And do it our way, yes our way,
Make all our dreams come true
For me and you.

Happy Days Theme Song

You’d probably be surprised to know that “Happy Days,” the song, was not always used for Happy Days, the show. In its first season, “Rock Around the Clock by Bill Haley & His Comets was used for the opening credits. However, also in season one, “Happy Days” was used as the closing theme—used was a version performed by Jimmy Haas on lead vocals.

From season two to season ten, they used Pratt & McClain’s version of “Happy Days” in the opening credits.

For the 11th and final season, a version featuring Bobby Arvon on lead vocals was used.

“Happy Days” was written by Charles Fox and Norman Gimbel.

Happy Days lyrics

Sunday, Monday, Happy Days. Tuesday, Wednesday, Happy Days.
Thursday, Friday, Happy Days. The Weekend comes, my cycle hums,
Ready to race to you.

These days are ours. Happy and free. (Oh Happy Days)
These days are ours. Share them with me. (Oh Baby)

Goodbye gray skies, Hello Blue, ’cause nothing can hold me when I hold you.
Feels so right, it can’t be wrong. Rockin’ and rollin’ all week long.

(Instrumental break)

Sunday, Monday, Happy Days. Tuesday, Wednesday, Happy Days.
Thursday, Friday, Happy Days. Saturday, what a day, groovin’ all week with you.

These days are ours. Share them with me. (oh Happy Days)
These days are ours. Happy and free. (oh Baby)
These Happy Days are yours and mine.
These Happy Days are yours and mine, Happy Days.
